Close your account in the app
Students can close their account from the Darsy app at any time:
- Open Darsy and sign in.
- Go to Profile, then Edit profile.
- Tap Close account and confirm.
Your account closes right away, you are signed out on every device, and the parent login linked to you stops working.
Teachers can delete their account from the Darsy for teachers app:
- Open Darsy for teachers and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
The account is deleted right away, you are signed out on every device, and your assistants' sign‑ins stop working.
Ask us by email
Parents, and anyone who can't open the app, can ask us to delete an account and its personal data:
- Email [email protected] from the email address on the account, with the subject Delete my Darsy account.
- Include your name, your phone number, and whether it is a student or teacher account, so we can find it.
- We verify and complete the deletion request within 30 days, except for specifically justified retention that we explain to you.
What is deleted, and what is kept
| Removed when closure is saved | Profile and contact details, student birth date, passwords/PINs and account tokens, private submitted answers and attachment links, personal notes and free-text feedback. Teachers' payout/profile details and assistants' names, contacts and sign-in credentials are also cleared. Shared parent access for another child remains. |

| Upload cleanup | Local files enter a retryable deletion queue. Files still used by another user or shared teaching resource remain. Unattached uploads recorded after the ownership-tracking update are included. |
| Limited linked history | Internal IDs and relationships, attendance/enrollment events, scores, dates, tuition amounts/balances and internal payment IDs remain under a deleted-account label for class continuity and reconciliation. This is pseudonymous history, not guaranteed anonymity. Teacher groups, shared lessons and other students' records remain. |
| Safety cases | Necessary evidence in an open investigation is private to moderators until resolution/dismissal, after which identifying report descriptions, snapshots and notes associated with the closed account are cleared. |
| Retention review | There is currently no fixed automatic expiry for retained linked history. Its continued need must be reviewed when class administration, reconciliation or a specific dispute ends. Ask us to delete associated history; we complete verified requests within 30 days, except for specifically justified retention that we explain to you. |
